EV Charging Network

eMobility designed to accommodate customer needs

Fast, simple and reliable. That is what customers ask for when charging their electrical vehicles (EV).

At St1, we have listened to our customers and developed our new super chargers called St1 Charge

Step by step we are expanding our network of high-power chargers at our marketplaces around the Nordics. Since establishing the first charging points in March 2024, we have opened close to 70 sites.

Some of St1's high-power charging stations have received partial funding from the European Union, Klimatklivet or the Finnish Energy Authority.

Having our customers' wishes in mind

  1. We build in a way that limits queues, and we use new technology to provide high-speed charging. Like traditional fuel customers, EV customers still want refueling the car to be fast and efficient.

  2. We are keeping it simple for the customer. Until recently, charging has been offered with a variety of different payment solutions, such as apps, QR-codes, RFID-chips. Customer surveys show that the preferred payment method is by card, which many are used to from traditional fuels. Card payment is at the core of the payment solutions we offer.

  3. Our network is reliable. We want to raise the bar of “on the go charging” from its early days and make sure that our chargers work 100% of the time.

Heavy vehicle charging

We are developing our charging concept for B2B and for heavy duty vehicles. We opened our first chargers accommodated for vehicles up to 18 meters in 2024 in Oslo, Norway.

We are also in the progress of building three sites together with one of the main transportation companies in Norway.

Three different markets

Norway

Norway is at the forefront of EV infrastructure, and we have, together with Recharge, already established 70 sites with EV charging across the country. Now, more and more customers will also see St1 Charge at the stations. In 2025, St1 opened its first retail site with no liquid fuel, located in Oslo. There you can find a shop, carwash and St1 Charge stations.

Sweden

The Swedish government has supported the transition to EVs by offering purchase subsidies for low-emission vehicles. To accommodate the growing number of EVs, Sweden has significantly expanded its public charging infrastructure, and now we can also offer “blixtsnabb” charging at several of our sites.

In Sweden most of the charging stations can accommodate charging of six cars at the same time. In 2025, we have 18 sites offering charging in Sweden.

Finland

Finland is experiencing a significant shift towards EVs, with rechargeable vehicles - both battery electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids - constituting nearly 49.6% of new passenger car registrations in 2024. With strategically placed fast-charging stations at 32 key locations, we’re empowering drivers to choose more sustainable energy without compromising convenience.

Funding

In 2023, St1 was granted 8.28 MEUR funding from Connecting Europe Facility’s Alternative Fuels Infrastructure to boost the e-mobility infrastructure in Sweden and Finland. The funded project is a joint project between St1 Oy and St1 Sverige AB, coordinated by St1 Nordic Oy. The project aims at delivering 342 recharging points at 150 kW for light-duty vehicles at 72 existing refuelling stations in Finland and Sweden covering 2 TEN-T Corridors (Scandinavian- Mediterranean and North Sea - Baltic).
