At St1, we believe that driving the energy transition needs bold and talented people. We aim to build a strong talent pipeline, preparing young professionals for senior roles while fostering an inclusive culture of growth. Our Talent Program is designed to support our energy transition journey and offer development opportunities within the company. The program identifies and nurtures potential leaders, equipping them with a well-rounded skill to one day lead the change.

This is not an ordinary graduate program

St1 Energy Transition Talent Program is a commercial and strategy focused program tailored for ambitious individuals who want to be at the forefront of the energy transition.

In January 2026, 3-4 candidates will start a 18-month rotation journey, during which they will explore three different roles in different units.  Each rotation lasts about 6 months and can based in Finland, Sweden, Norway or the UK. From day one, you are a full-time, permanent employee. The program is a steppingstone to a long-term role, one that builds on what you’ve learned and defined together during the journey. 

This approach ensures you gain a holistic understanding of our organization while developing your skills across various domains. Every day is a learning experience through hands-on work, collaboration and development. You get to execute energy transition across our value chains and build your personal and professional growth.

You will have your own unique training path, designed to match your interests and skills with our business needs. We will help out with the practical arrangements of your rotations. Bring your spark and grow beyond the ordinary.

Are you the one we are looking for?

You can be recently graduated, at the early stages of your career or already have some experience. If you have a technical or business degree, have a proven track record at studies or in the workplace and are passionate about driving change, this program is your chance to shine. A commercial mindset is essential, as it is a drive to understand how business, technology, and regulation intersect— particularly in the context of the energy transition.

Our ideal candidate will also have the qualities needed to thrive in the ever-changing and complex environment of energy transition: innovative and sustainable thinking, adaptability and resilience, a collaborative spirit, eager for continuous learning and solving problems, and leadership potential.

Selection process and timeline

The application period lasts from 1.9-21.9.2025 and the participants will be selected during November 2025. The Talent Program starts in January 2026 for the selected candidates. The selection process allows both sides to assess whether we’re the right fit for each other. We are interested in your potential and whether you have the spark we are looking for.

If you are applying for the program, we hope you will set aside time in your calendar for the different stages of the selection process.

Part of the selection process is carried out in cooperation with Barona.

Great that you are interested in applying! Please submit your CV and motivation letter through Barona’s portal by 21.9.2025.

In your motivation letter, we would like you to describe:

  • Why are you applying and what makes you a great candidate for the program?

  • What are your professional interests and where do you see yourself in the future?

  • How would you like to develop your skills by participating in the program?

  • Your unique competence, personality, and working methods.

Applications are reviewed by our recruitment partner Barona. Most suitable candidates continue to the following phase.

Barona sends online aptitude and personality tests which you can complete independently. It takes about 2 hours to complete both tests.

Test results are reviewed by Barona and candidates who are elected to continue will be invited to the first Teams interviews with Barona.

Barona invites you to an interview, where you will go through your test results. The interview will be conducted via Teams and will last approximately 30 minutes.

Based on the discussions, Barona will present the most suitable candidates to St1.

At this stage, we at St1 look forward to meeting you in person! We will organise interviews at our offices in Helsinki, Stockholm and Oslo. So block you calendar as follows depending on your own location. You will get closer information along the way.

  • Helsinki: 28.10.2025

  • Stockholm: 29.10.2025

  • Oslo: 30.10.2025

Congratulations, you have reached the final stage of the process! This stage includes completing a case task, which you will present at the final interview. You will have week 45 time to complete the task and the final interviews will take place in week 46. If you want, we offer you the opportunity to fly to Helsinki for the interview, but over Teams works well too.

Welcome our new game changers! 3-4 candidates will be elected to the program. At this stage we will finalize the contracts and start planning your rotations. Your St1 journey starts here!
